I drove to Loveland Pass on April 20, 2008 and as you can see, there is still
a lot of snow up there! The Loveland Pass sign had enough snow and ice to reach the bottom of it.
Above is the view facing the east; You can see Interstate 70 way down there in the valley.
There is a small parking area at the divide. One popular hike is Mt. Sniktau, a 13er that is considered an "easy" climb for Colorado mountaineering standards, at least.
Huge snow banks on the edge of Highway 6. Amazing! This road is kept open all year round (weather permitting). Friends, if you love snow, Loveland Pass is the place to be. :) Related LinksLoveland Pass - A greater collection of photos from my visit in April 2008.Loveland Ski Area - A ski / snowboard area close to and east of the Eisenhower Tunnel.
